SUPERVISED STUDY

This is organised in the school for all students. This scheme operates on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4.10 - 6.15 pm. Study is supervised by teachers and is available at a fee to students.


HOMEWORK CLUB

Available four days a week for 1st and 2nd years, 4.00 - 5.00pm.


GYMNASIUM:

A full size gymnasium suitable for basketball, indoor football, volleyball and badminton is available for both P.E. classes and for training. The school also has a playing pitch and outdoor courts.


ASSEMBLY AREAS:

School is open at 8.00am each morning to receive students from the early buses. Facilities are provided for these students to play games, study etc. when they arrive.


COMPUTERS:

The school is proud of its Computer Labs 1 & 2 which boast of 22 & 16 multimedia PCs respectively, fully networked and capable of simultaneous internet access. The school is networked and receives broadband and wifi throughout the school building. The majority of classrooms  have fitted data projectors / speakers.


LOCKERS:

Student lockers are available for students and are located throughout the school.


ART ROOM:

Nagle Rice has a fully equipped dedicated art room. This room is equipped with various equipment used for all types of art, craft and design.


HOME ECONOMICS:

This department has two purpose built rooms: a kitchen and a recently refurbished dress design room.


CONSTRUCTION STUDIES & TECHNICAL DRAWING:

This department uses a well equipped woodwork room and a larger Design & Communication & Graphics room and technology room which doubles as a drawing room. In addition to a selection of tools, this department also has 16 computers complete with A3 colour laser printer and AutoCAD.


MUSIC ROOM:

Nagle Rice has a dedicated Music Room with facilities for instrumental and choral performances.


PRAYER ROOM:

The religion department is equipped with a wide range of resources. A specially dedicated prayer room is available to students and staff and is used for class liturgies and Masses, Exam Prayer Services, Staff Masses and other liturgies throughout the year, as well as providing a quiet space for reflection and prayer in the midst of busy school life.


SCIENCES:

This department has 3 dedicated laboratories, one Biology, one Chemistry and one Physics. There is a central preparation area and a Demonstration room.  Agricultural Science and Applied Maths are also offered in the school, free of charge to students, on a Wednesday afternoon.


WILDLIFE GARDEN and SENSORY GARDENS:

The Environmental Studies Department has cultivated a wildlife garden in conjunction with Transition Year classes, and Aoibhneas has a Sensory Garden created and cared for by students and staff in the school.


FRIENDSHIP ROOM / SEOMRA CAIDREAMH & LIBRARY

A chill-out space decorated and planned by the Student Council is available to different year groups each lunch-time for chilling out, listening to music, chatting or playing board games! The School Library is also located in this room.


“AOIBHNEAS” ASD Unit

Our first dedicated ASD Unit opened in the school.  Nagle Rice now has three Special Classes, complete with Special Needs Classrooms, Sensory Room, Relaxation Room, Sensory Room, Lifeskills area and Sensory Garden.
